Two local firefighters were hurt in falls while battling a brush fire in central Pennsylvania, and two others were treated for dehydration and heat exhaustion. Acccording to fire officials, 50 volunteer firefighters responded to the scene Saturday after a transformer malfunction ignited a fire in a wooded area in Logan Township near Altoona. Officials say the steep ground and gusty wind complicated matters. Firefighters were on scene for more than six hours.
