(KABUL) — A suicide truck bomb targeted a foreign compound in Afghanistan’s capital early Monday morning local time.
The compound, called the North Gate, houses foreign contractors in Kabul.
After the truck blast, armed fighters managed to enter the compound and there were reports of gunfire.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the massive explosion, which resulted in power being cut to many parts of the city.
There was no immediate word about casualties, but police in Kabul confirmed the explosion and said they would provide more details later.
