It was billed as the “World’s Largest Student-Run Charity,” as Penn State students danced for 46 hours, raising more than 10 million dollars for pediatric cancer patients over the weekend.

The money raised at the annual dance marathon known as THON, an astounding total of over $10 million, was more than 300,000 more than last year’s total. That money will benefit patients and their families at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

The event has raised more than $137 million since its inception in 1977.
