Doug Herendeen has been in radio more years than you really need to know, but it is not true that, as a small boy, he got Marconi's autograph. Marconi told him to buzz off. Before joing WRTA in 2005, he (Doug, not Marconi) had worked at Country 105 WILQ in Williamsport, and WMAJ-AM & Lite 94.5 in State College. He had one fish (departed after almost 10 years) and too blasted many old radios (none of which are the type bought at yard sales for 25 cents, but turn out to be worth millions).
As a child he was influenced by broadcasters ranging from Jean Shepherd to Gene Rayburn, so now you know that if he seems to make no sense when you listen to him, it's not you; it's him. You might say he drinks entirely too much Winter White Earl Grey Tea, but such a thing is not possible.
