Deer season is underway and Pennsylvania’s game commission expects more than half a million licensed hunters to get out and take advantage over the next twelve days.

Deer hunting supports 15,000 jobs in our state and generates more than $121 million in state and local taxes. Over 935,000 hunters bought licenses for rifle season last year in Pennsylvania. If you tag a nice one and don’t plan on taking the meat, the game commission encourages you to donate the venison to a local food bank.
