Governor Tom Wolf and First Lady Frances Wolf joined the Pennsylvania Commission for Women on Wednesday where they hosted the second annual event to honor Pennsylvania’s female veterans.

The gathering was part of Women’s History Month. 28 women from across the Commonwealth, representing all branches of the armed services, were recognized for their brave service and selfless contributions to Pennsylvania and to the rest of the nation.

“What we need to understand is we’re honoring women veterans not because they’re women, but because they’ve made a contribution to our society. All we’re asking and all they’re asking, is to be treated fairly…to just give us a chance. We’re just asking for a chance to show that we can do everything that we can do,” said Wolf.
