(LONDON) — Nineteen people, including children, were rescued Sunday from a fairground ride in London.
The ride’s ten hanging capsules were stuck about 20 meters (about 66 feet) in the air, according to the London Fire Brigade.
Eyewitnesses said according to The Telegraph that the capsules were swinging in the wind for a few hours.
London Fire Brigade Station Manager Clive Robinson said there were no injures. He said rescue efforts included an “aerial ladder platform” similar to a cherry picker, but it would be a slow process.
“It’s slow work as we need to access each cage on the ride individually and ensure they are secure before we move them from the ride onto our platform and bring them back down to the ground,” he said at the scene.
