(NEW YORK) — Wall Street closed in the green on Tuesday with gains from Wal-Mart and energy stocks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 69.61 (+0.31 percent) to finish at 22,830.68, a new record.
The Nasdaq gained 7.52 (+0.11 percent) to close at 6,587.25, while the S&P 500 finished at 2,550.64, up 5.91 (+0.23 percent) from its open.
Crude oil was about 2.76 percent higher with prices at $50.95 per barrel.
Winners and Losers: Shares of Wal-Mart soared 4.47 percent after the retail giant projected online sales would climb 40 percent next year.
Sears Canada is seeking court approval to liquidate all of its remaining stores and assets. Sears Holdings Corporation sunk 5.37 percent.
