Two state lawmakers on Wednesday lobbied for legislation that could lead to the first constitutional convention in 50 years, as a way to reform Pennsylvania’s government.

State Rep. Stephen Bloom, R-199, Cumberland County. sponsored the Bill , which calls for a limited constitutional convention that could amend the state constitution to address the size of the legislature, the state budget process and other areas.

Bloom and state Rep. Aaron Kaufer, R-, Kingston, co-sponsored the bill, made their case for its merits at a Wednesday news conference at Kaufer’s office in Luzerne.
