City Man Sentenced In Stabbing Case

The city man convicted of stabbing two other Altoona men after a night at a local bar last fall will be going to prison for 12 to 24 years.
33-year-old Richard Ulrich was sentenced Thursday in Blair County Court. He had claimed he acted in self defense when he stabbed Joseph Stewart in the neck and his brother Brian Stewart in the hand during a fight on the 1900 block of 10th Street on October 14th .
The fight was the culmination of a night of bad blood between Ulrich and Brian Stewart that started at the Island Bar in Mill Run.
Other charges Ulrich was convicted of include simple assault, recklessly endangerment, and carrying a prohibited offensive weapon.
