A fire Wednesday afternoon severely damaged a Blair County lumber company.

Fire crews were called to Pennsy Lumber Products in Williamsburg shortly after 4:30PM. Witnesses say smoke could be seen billowing from the facility from miles away. A company representative wasn’t immediately available when contacted by phone.

It took eight Blair and Huntingdon County fire companies several hours to fight the flames. A state police fire marshal has been called in to investigate. A damage estimate hasn’t been released.
