Abduction Attempt In Altoona

City police investigate an attempted child abduction.
The incident happened Wednesday afternoon a little after 12:30. According to police a 12 year old girl was walking in the area of the 1800 block of 5th Street in Altoona when a man drove up beside her, slowed down and asked her several times if she wanted a ride.
The girl declined each time and finally fled to a friend’s house and the driver left the area.
The car the man was driving is being described as a later model gray 4-door sedan.
The man himself is described as white with a red goatee and he was wearing black sunglasses.
