Logan Township supervisors have temporarily tabled a change in the ordinance governing wind turbines.
The board held a public hearing Thursday night to examine the issue -- just two weeks after Logan Township’s Planning Commission recommended some tighter restrictions. Supervisor Frank Meloy says the board needs a bit more time to examine some the key issues that have surfaced – specifically with noise levels.
The board has requested additional noise impact information from Gamesa Energy, who wants to construct a wind turbine farm on City Authority property near the Buckhorn. Project Director Tim Vought spoke out against the changes. He says the new restrictions are too tough and they could put Gamesa’s project at risk.
The supervisors could revisit the topic at its next meeting in two weeks.
